If you’ve ever tried picking upsmall eccentric springswith a standard SMT vacuum nozzle, you probably know the problem: parts drop, misalign, or get stuck.
Recently we worked on a case involving aGXH pick-and-place machinewhere the spring had:
• A very small end face (φ0.6mm) • 0.4mm eccentric offset • Hollow structure • Feeding direction with the small end facing up
A traditional vacuum nozzle simply couldn’t handle it.
So we designed acustom gripper-style SMT nozzleto clamp the spring instead of relying on vacuum. The pickup became much more stable.
